They do not emit energy themselves, which is why they are called "passive". ![]() Passive infrared sensors work by measuring incoming infrared from human or animal. RF transmitter to transmit the data to the receiver You can see my new instructable ARDUINO MPPT SOLAR CHARGE CONTROLLER (version-3.0)Ģ.Arduino to process the data from PIR sensorģ. RECEIVER : Receive the data from transmitter and activate alarm system and camera or sending a sms etcģ.SOFTWARE : That operates the entire hardware used in this project. I divide the entire project in to 3 major parts ġ.TRANSMITTER : To sense the human motion and transmit the data to receiverĢ. You could use IR, but that has a limited range and can only work within a line of sight of the receiver. But using the cheap RF module we can communicate within the range of around 100m.Īt the end I will give you few tips to reduce the power consumption. My device uses a PIR motion sensor to detect the human motion and this information is transmitted without wire by using a RF transmitter-receiver module to give some sort of alert.I choose a RF module for wire less communication because compared to the existing wireless systems like blue tooth,XBee or WiFi ,it is user friendly and very cheap. You can get it from eBay less than $ 2. One of my friend always worried for his new born baby when sleeping on a bed but no one is there to monitor him.īy modifying few things in my device you can solve all these problems very easily. Few years ago my friend's new bike was stolen from the parking premises of our apartment.ģ. ![]() I should really set up a motion-capture camera. In this project I will discuss how you can make a cheap wireless home security system.Though during starting of this project the main objective was only for security alarm but later I found this device can be used to solve several problems. These are the few practical problems which I have faced in the past :ġ. It's pretty darn cool, but some of these animals I almost never see, even though I know they're here, like the owls and coyotes that I've seen once each and the foxes I've only seen twice, unless you count road kill. I also get trout, heron, and the occasional turtle in thee small creek passing behind my house. I think the coyotes sometimes snack on my figs, but I don't consider them garden pests or all that small. I am sometimes anazed by the variety of small mammals I find destroying vegetables in my garden: sqirrels, incredibly tiny rabbits, mice, voles, pack rats, one guy who I think was a shrew, moles, possums, raccoons, and probably a few others I've forgotten. I hear owls almost every night, but I'd still be excited to see one of them because the only time I've seen one was when I startled a deer, who plowed into a tree, startling an owl. I hear coyotes yipping or howling all the darn time and have to maintain my defenses to keep my garden from being decimated by deer. If be pretty excited about a hedgehog because, if they're around here, I've never seen one. I guess it's a mater of what you're used to.
